            Preparing your quilt top

* Long arm quilting service in Edmonton area
  • Borders on the top will lay flat and the entire top will measure to be "square".
  • The top will be well-pressed and folded neatly.
  • The back fabric  and batting layer will measure at least 4" larger than the top on all four sides.
  • Backing will measure to be "square" and will not have uneven edges, at the straight grain of the fabric will lay parallel to the length of the top.
  • The quilt top should be free from hanging thread ends and breaks in seams.
  • Embellishments will be added after quilting.

·       Pressing is recommended

·       Quilt top MUST be squared and lay flat. Measure your quilt across the top, bottom, and at the center. If the outer edge is more than an inch or two bigger you will have wavy borders which can result in puckers in your finished quilt. We will contact you to determine whether you’d like to fix it or trust us to quilt it with the least amount of puckers possible.
